Watching Band of Brothers, pondering opening a tumblr account (although I don't know anyone over there and I doubt I'd get any more feedback on my original 'verse scribblings then I do anywhere else which is to say none since tumblr is very visually oriented toward art and screencaps and animated .gifs and fandom and wow this has turned bitter let's move on), lusting after Diablo III, laughing at the people stuck in the six-mile (formerly fifteen!) back-up at the Sagamore Bridge trying to get off the Cape, and sorting through the dregs of The Pit for something fluffy to read.

All in all, your average afternoon.

Also, happy Memorial Day. Thank a soldier if you know one, which reminds me: I need to go call my grandpa.
Finally got the new challenge post up at [ profile] randompulp so that's one less thing to worry about.

(I've said it before, I'll say it again: I will never stop pimping out my writing challenge comm. Deal with it.)

Freezing my butt off; this house is cold. I'm wearing two pairs of socks, sweat pants, a t-shirt, a sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, a jacket, and a shawl. Going to go make some hot chocolate before I settle in to watch The Lost Evidence: The Battle of Britain on History International and convince my cat to move over and share the damn blanket while ignoring her Glare of Doom.

Right, hot chocolate needs to be made before my fingers freeze.

P.S. Irked that Zenyatta won't be in the Breeder's Cup Classic (though this means I can cheer for Casino Drive with a clear conscious), but I'm totally going to enjoy the grudge match between her and Ginger Punch in the Ladies' Classic. It's going to be an awesome race.

Well, with no more baseball until spring training (the Red Sox have been eliminated, so far as I care the season is over), I'm at a loss (once again) as to what to watch in regards to sports. There's the Breeder's Cup this weekend; I'm still clinging to the minuscule hope that Zenyatta's connections will decide to run her in the Classic rather than the Distaff (excuse me, the Ladies' Classic *massive eye roll, makes disgusted noise*), but the likelihood of that is slim to none. And other than that, there's what, football? I love the Patriots, but it's still a sport I don't understand. Basketball? Snore. Hockey? I'm not that bloodthirsty.

Am suddenly popular with the kitties, if the jockeying for best snuggle spot among Jazz, Bounce, and Beep is anything to go by. My laptop doesn't generate that much heat, so I haven't the faintest idea of what is up.

Bored, can't find anything to keep my attention for longer than five minutes. No one to talk to at the moment, either. ([ profile] barcelona_pho, where are you? We have modly duties to attend to!)

Right, time to find my book.

EDIT 7:19 PM: Billy got an A on his essay for his writing class! The highest in the class! THE ONLY ONE WITH THAT GRADE.

I am so fucking proud right now. Please excuse me, I need to spaz, do a happy dance, and flip off BLS.

Oh, bah.

Halfway done with my reading assessment for English. YOU WILL NOT GET THE BEST OF ME, WRITTEN WORD! *grumbles* Though I really wish Frank Herbert's post-Dune books were a tad more interesting, easier to follow, and not filled with so many seemingly uselss plot points. *smacks The Dosadi Experiment*

Relatively bad evening. The entire downstairs is cramped because of the boxes, and I ended up tripping on a shoe and falling onto the arm of the comfy chair. My chest is like ow. Really, really ow. Even three hours later. If I'm not sleeping in the new house tomorrow night, I'm giving up.

All right. Time to zonk.

P.S. Michael says she's stocking up enough alcohol to intoxicate the whole of Europe into a week-long hangover once God revokes the non-imbibing law (optimistic bitch). For all the angels out there who want to know. Nyeh. (Michael: Yes, Metatron, the tequila's reserved just for you.)
